FUN IN THE COUNTRYSIDE

Hi I’m Laia and I’m from Barcelona, Spain. I’m 14 years old and it was my first time with Living Learning English. I’ve stayed with the best family I could ever have, the Williams. Sally, Andy, Harry and Oliver are all lovely people and Nala, the dog, is adorable. Although Ollie is quite crazy, he always makes you laugh. 😀 I was really lucky with the weather.

We’ve dons incredible activities such as going to the beach, playing games, shopping, having barbacues…I’ve met lots of fantastic new people during my stay here. The countryside is AMAZING, like in a movie!

Honestly, I really recommend this family and this expirience to everyone! It’s the best you could ever have

My lovely trip in Brighton

Hello, dear readers.

I’m Johanna, a french who is 14 years old and I will tell you about my trip in Brighton, a town just near London in England. I took the plane the 13rd July and it’s was the first time I traveled alone. It made me very anxious and stressed…

But everythings was easier than I thought. I didn’t loose me in the airport, I didn’t miss my plane and Kate, my new teacher was so nice. Since the first day, I have been very welcome. My partner, a spanish girl who had the same age as me, became a very good friend. Each day in the week, we had 3 hours for the course. In fact, these 3 hours passed very quickly. We had different kind of learning like games, role-playing, listen music to understand the lyrics… and of course we worked with a book but it was very helpful.

We made loads of excursions in Brighton or in the country-side like canoë, paddle, museums, shops, shopping, walks, beach… We were very lucky, Gemma (my spanish partner) and I, because the weather was very lovely : sun, very warm a little bit of clouds sometimes and never rain ! We met Kate’s family and friends and all of them were very nice with us. It was a pleasure to met them. We could taste news foods like the scones for the afternoon tea, some cakes and sometimes food very strange like “Marmite”. Now, I drink tea each day like a British ;).

So, if you want to improve your english, meet new people, discover new places and have lot of fun, do like me. I’m sure you will love it. I came back yesterday in France and it was a very great experience in my life. I will not forget this great trip.

I was so lucky to meet a teacher as Kate very attentive and friendly. I will miss Brighton, my lovely teacher and her family !

4 SUNNY WEEKS IN GLOUCESTERSHIRE

picnic herefordTT

I’VE BEEN FOUR WEEKS IN A LOVELY HOUSE NEAR A TOWN CALLED NEWNHAM-ON-SEVERN AND THE CITY OF BRISTOL. I HAVE BEEN HAVING LESSONS IN THE MORNING AND DOING ACTIVITIES SUCH AS PLAYING TENNIS, SWIMMING AND VISITING TOWNS NEAR HERE. IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO COME YOU CAN DO EVERY ACTIVITY YOU THINK SPECIALLY AT WEEKENDS WHEN YOU HAVE MORE TIME TO DO THEM. I THINK THE WEEKEND ACTIVITY THAT I MOST ENJOYED WAS PAINT-BALLING BECAUSE THE ACTION IT INVOLVES. I HAVE ALWAYS HAD THINGS TO DO AND PEOPLE TO PLAY WITH AND IF WE ADD TO IT THE WEATHER – A PERFECT MONTH.

Oxford the city of dreaming spires

I am a 16-year-old student who has done the course Living Learning English in Oxford.

It has been an unforgettable experience. These 3 weeks have been incredible. I have done many excursions (such as London, and Blenheim Palace), seen many amazing colleges, many Harry Potter sets… and many more things. I should also mention all the things I have learned (especially vocabulary) in great and long lessons with a very friendly and enthusiastic teacher. The fact that you can decide your excursions makes the trip not only a great opportunity to learn but an extraordinarily interesting experience. I think it has been a great experience and the trip in which I have learned and practised the most.

Kirriemuir – Angus Scotland

  • My name is Baptiste, I am seventeen and I spent 2 weeks in a Family in Scotland. The name of the town is Kirriemuir where the author of Peter Pan was born.
  • All the morning I had three hours of lessons and during the afternoon, I can do what I want. The city was very small but very beautiful. Then, I enjoyed running in the fields. I visited Edinburgh, Dundee and St Andrews. All these cities were beautiful and you can buy lots of different things in the shops.
  • I really improved my accent and comprehension.
  • The family was very kind, comprehensive and friendly in all the situations.

Amazing stay !!!!!!!!!

Hi,we are Charles from France age 13 and Andrey from Belorus age 13,

This stay was amazing because we did lots and lots of things: we went to London 3 times and we went to M & M world with the kids, we also went to Hamley’s, London dugeon … . We had lunch for Andrew’s birthday .

We also visited Windsor Castle for which we wrote a review on Trip Advisor and we had great fun at Windsor swimming pool with the kids and the cousins.

We went to Windsor and Eton centre, we fed the Queen’s swans it was very funny!

The house is amazing and the family and Jasper, the dog, are all very kind!  We took Jasper for walks every day and we were learning English.

We had a great time.

My station in poole

the house is on a very good neighbourhood, near the marina ,near the harbour and near the beach.you do a lot of lessons with vocabulary, lots of speaking, grammar and listening.

You can go fishing,( i cought one 🙂 ), cinema, picnic, go canoeing (we felt every time), swimming, shopping, football with friends(quite fun 🙂 ) ,sailing and windsurfing.

Te food is very nice, very good and tasty. Chocolateeeeeeeee!!!

The family is very nice and friendly. Why? Because of yes.

My partner is crazy, he always say funny spanish words like patata. HE is fun. He is very tidy, not like me. 🙂

I’ve learnt a lot of english

Memorable time in Tockwith with Nick and Lois!!!

It’s easy to feel that I am at Home because I had the best English parents. Among other things, I met them in Minsk, Belarus ( my motherland ) in May. They were invited to visit Minsk by Irisha who is my lovely friend. She was really struck a wonderful time spent with Nick and Lois. So Irisha strongly advised to come to Folkard’ family. You can read Irisha’s review here ➡️ http://www.livingenglishreviews.com/wonderful-three-weeks-in-tockwith-7/. I can say that my friend was absolutely right! I tried a lot of traditional and just very tasty food like salads, gooseberry pie, Indian food like curry, Chinese food, pasta and so on. My teacher was Nick and I assure you as well as a master cooker he is a nice skillful teacher. He improved my speaking: when we had a conversation in Minsk I couldn’t speak with him and was becoming sweaty but now it’s much better deal.
Tockwith is located near York – the town of Yorkshire. I hadn’t known that it’s a motherland of KitKat!! I had a chance to make my own chocolate. York is a very beautiful city with a lot of historical places. Also we visited an aircrafts museum that was interesting because they have some exhibits where you can sit and push different buttons. It was the first time when I was eating fish and chips. Before we were in a Go Ape climbing on the trees and slid down zip wire.
Everything I shared with my new friend from Santander, Spain Luis. His is a funny boy. We got on well together and found a lot of things in common. I think we will be forever friends and whenever meet again.
The main activity was cycling. I did about 500km in 4 weeks! Luis and me joined North Yorkshire Cycling club.
The house is very comfortable and also Nick and Lois have the best garden I’ve ever seen. I think that I found my role model of ideal garden.
We are going to keep our bonds and make them closer.

Fun in Welsh capital

Hello, my name is Diego and I am from Barcelona. This summer I spent a four weeks course with Leaving Learning English in Wales where, as the title says, I had a wonderful time.

The house where I stayed is located in the Welsh capital, Cardiff, in a very quiet and beautiful neighborhood called Whitchurch. Cardiff is such a lovely place where you can find whatever you want and you can do almost all kinds of activities like visiting the amazing Cardiff castle or the very interesting National museum, but in my opinion the best activity that I’ve done twas visiting the St Fagans museum, a place where there are typical Welsh old buildings and a fantastic scenery. Apart from this there is a huge stadium called the Millennium Stadium where takes place different sorts of sports, but especially rugby  “The king sport of Welsh”. In addition, if you like go shopping in Cardiff there are a lot of different shops (traditional or moderns) and an enormous commercial center called John Lewis. I won’t mention more amazing places because I would never finish, so come here and discover this by your own, I am sure you won’t regret.

The family who I stayed with was really nice and kind with me. The mother of the family and my teacher is Sophie, I strongly recommend her as a teacher, because I have improved my English quite a lot and the classes were really enjoyable for me. Daniel the father of the family is very nice and funny, you can learn interesting things from him. Finally, the two children, Gethin and Gwenan, are really friendly persons who I spent a very good time with them, don’t worry if you are a little bit shy, with them you won’t feel uncomfortable.

That is my experience, I had a fantastic time with this family and in this place. So if you aren’t sure to try this because you don’t feel confident or whatever other reason, I have to tell you that you will have a good time, you will improve a lot your English and you will know another culture.

Diego Regidor 🙂

Stay in Margate

My name is Illya and I am from Ukraine

My name is Pierre and I am from France.

The family was very good. There are Ella (our teacher), Jim (Ella’s husband), Alexandra and Alena (their daughters), Betsy (the dog). We had a very comfortable rooms. Everything was perfect: days, food, house, excursions and the evening entertainment. We watched the final of the FIFA World Cup 2014 Brazil. We watched a lot of films: The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, I-robot, Transformers 4 “Age of exinction”

Every day we did something different. We visited a lot places: Dover castle, Walmer castle, Deal castle and Canterbury. In Canterbury we went to the cathedral and we went shopping. In Dover castle we visited underground  hospital and the secret wartime tunnels. We played mini-golf, tennis, billiards, table tennis, card games and battle-ship.

Every morning we had 4 hours of lessons.During the whole time we talked about the grammar, we learned a lot of vocabulary and we wrote our diaries.

We really enjoyed being with this family and recommend for everyone.
