Fantastic English course in Cardiff !

Hello,

These two weeks that I have spent in Cardiff have been great! The English classes “one to one” with my lovely teacher Kath, very good. Cardiff is very nice. It’s a place worth a visit. The people are very friendly, the food is very good and there are many places to go sightseeing. It has been a fantastic experience!

Fun in Welsh capital

Hello, my name is Diego and I am from Barcelona. This summer I spent a four weeks course with Leaving Learning English in Wales where, as the title says, I had a wonderful time.

The house where I stayed is located in the Welsh capital, Cardiff, in a very quiet and beautiful neighborhood called Whitchurch. Cardiff is such a lovely place where you can find whatever you want and you can do almost all kinds of activities like visiting the amazing Cardiff castle or the very interesting National museum, but in my opinion the best activity that I’ve done twas visiting the St Fagans museum, a place where there are typical Welsh old buildings and a fantastic scenery. Apart from this there is a huge stadium called the Millennium Stadium where takes place different sorts of sports, but especially rugby  “The king sport of Welsh”. In addition, if you like go shopping in Cardiff there are a lot of different shops (traditional or moderns) and an enormous commercial center called John Lewis. I won’t mention more amazing places because I would never finish, so come here and discover this by your own, I am sure you won’t regret.

The family who I stayed with was really nice and kind with me. The mother of the family and my teacher is Sophie, I strongly recommend her as a teacher, because I have improved my English quite a lot and the classes were really enjoyable for me. Daniel the father of the family is very nice and funny, you can learn interesting things from him. Finally, the two children, Gethin and Gwenan, are really friendly persons who I spent a very good time with them, don’t worry if you are a little bit shy, with them you won’t feel uncomfortable.

That is my experience, I had a fantastic time with this family and in this place. So if you aren’t sure to try this because you don’t feel confident or whatever other reason, I have to tell you that you will have a good time, you will improve a lot your English and you will know another culture.

Diego Regidor 🙂

Tropical weather in Wales

I had a General English course with Kathyryn in Cardiff for 10 days. I didn’t know much about Cardiff before, but I had heard when I was about to go there that it’s a lovely place. So I was excited to visit. I had a great hiking experience..There is absolutely fantastic scenery and breathtaking views. And yes, what I had heard about Cardiff is true…”IT’s WONDERFUL!”

Much better weather than expected, beautiful green countryside and spectacular beaches! Great places to visit and good accommodation with lovely views of the coast. A really different and valuable experience – completely worthwhile!

Unforgettable time in Wales

Thank you very much – Marco, Vicky and John! It was a great great time full of different activities, communication and etc. I fell in love with Wales and its beautiful sights. I’m looking forward to being back to you guys. Thank you again.

See you soon.

English in Wales

Hi, my name is Yvonne and I spent 3 lovely weeks in the home of my hosts, David and Diane. Their cottage is in the countryside and around 20km away from the next big town. They have been very friendly and integrated me in their daily life. I also joined their friends and family. Diane is an excellent cook and so I was indulged with delicious vegetarian meals. Every day I went for a walk with the family’s very friendly dog; therefore, we got very close. We visited many very interesting places: Powis Castle, an estuary, a tourist attraction called King Arthur’s Labyrinth, the seaside, Shrewsbury, Chester and a lot more.

My teacher didn’t only teach me English, I also received an impression of Welsh culture. I learnt a lot about Wales and could improve my English. Apart from the very rainy weather, it was a wonderful time and I will miss the green of Wales, the sheep and the friendly people.

Luise in Cardiff

I felt very welcome, the lessons are efficient (I reached my goals), the food is home made, tasty and good for health, we went to castles, museums and also to the gym.Kathryn pays attention to your needs and wills both during the lessons and for your free time. Huw, her husband is very nice and enjoys joking. A great and lively atmosphere in few words.I really enjoyed my stay with Kathryn and Huw and I think you will too.

MY STAY IN WALES

I spent 2 weeks in Bangor on Dee with Lynne and Stan. It was an enjoyable experience in a lovely village. I visited Chester, the North Wales coast, the World Heritage Site (Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal), and, of course, I have learned a lot of English! In the area there are a lot of lovely walks and plenty to see and do. The Tedfords are very kind and welcoming, Lynne is a very good cook and our lessons have been varied, very enjoyable and a lot of fun.

My stay in Wales with Marco and Vicky 2011

My name is Ana (22). I’m from Mexico.
I stayed in Tongwynlais, Wales from the 27th March to the 14th May 2011 with Marco and Vicky.
They were very warm and friendly and always making sure I was ok and I was having a good time. It really felt like I was at home.
When studying with Marco it felt like time flew because the lessons were so fun and interactive.
And we did a lot of fun activities like visiting Tongwynlais Castle, having a nice walk around Cardiff Bay, eating fish and chips in Penarth, having a Royal Wedding tea party with Vicky and her friends and my favourite one: the special mexican presentation and dinner I cooked for Marco, Vicky and some friends to show them the mexican culture and practice my speaking at the same time!
It’s really one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in my life!!
And Wales is such a beautiful place with a lot of things to see and do.
Im glad I had the oportunity to meet Marco and Vicky, they are
If i had the chance I would deffinitely stay again with them!
Thanks for everything!

A week in Cardiff by Lucia and Lucilla

We stayed near Cardiff with a really friendly family for a week in August 2011. They were very nice and welcoming; they allowed us to feel at home and helped us to improve our fluency. We enjoyed visiting the surroundings: Barry beach, Llantwit Major; Cardiff historical centre and harbour and we had very nice walks along the amazing cliffs. Kathy helped us to widen our vocabulary and our knowledge of daily common language. All was really enjoyable. We can recommend them to you if you can spend only a short time to improve your English, you will appreciate your staying as precious.
