Four amazing weeks in oxford

Hello. This is Mikhail. I come from Russia. I’m 17. I stayed in Oxford for 4 weeks. I had 4 hours of lesson each day. My teacher was very qualified.  Our lessons were very interesting and fascinating. My English has improved much. I learned a lot of new vocabulary and constructions. I had many interesting conversations with my host family. For our meals I tried a lot of different food, prepared by Elaine. I also learned how to prepare some such as baking bread and preparing panna cotta.

I had many interesting afternoon activities like visiting museums, watching films in the cinema and cycling. I also went to London twice and to Thorpe park (a theme park near London). For the 3 weeks I lived with a boy from Spain. I spend a lot of great times with him improving my language. Thanks Tilley family and Living Learning English.

Oxford the city of dreaming spires

I am a 16-year-old student who has done the course Living Learning English in Oxford.

It has been an unforgettable experience. These 3 weeks have been incredible. I have done many excursions (such as London, and Blenheim Palace), seen many amazing colleges, many Harry Potter sets… and many more things. I should also mention all the things I have learned (especially vocabulary) in great and long lessons with a very friendly and enthusiastic teacher. The fact that you can decide your excursions makes the trip not only a great opportunity to learn but an extraordinarily interesting experience. I think it has been a great experience and the trip in which I have learned and practised the most.

Wonderful Wallingford!

Hello,

I am from Germany and I have spent two weeks in Wallingford, which is near Oxford. It was really nice. I saw a lot, we went to Oxford twice, where we went on a tour of the colleges, we visited Buckingham Palace in London, Blenheim Palace, Henley and The Living Rainforest. This is a was a great experience, because you felt as if you were in a REAL Rainforest!!

My family was really lovely, because they tried hard to give me a wonderful stay. I learned a lot in the lessons, we did a lot of different activities for example we read  newspaper articles, recorded my pronunciation to improve it, and we talked about  films which we had watched and books I read. The room was clean and the food was excellent, because the host father cooked wonderful meals.

I would recommend everybody to come to this familiy!

I enjoyed my lessons because we did more talking than writing. It was fun.

Legoland was fantastic but I liked Madame Tussauds, The Tower of London, ‘Hogwart’s Hall’ in Christ Church College, Oxford and The Pitt Rivers Museum too.

Demid aged 12 from Russia.
