My amazing holiday in Cardiff

Hello, dear readers!

I’m Natalie from Austria, 17 and I stayed for two weeks in lovely Wales. The whole family Sophie, Gwenni, Gethin and Daniel was very friendly and I really liked them. Every day was amazing and I will miss my time in Cardiff. =)

My host siblings were in the same age as me and we went to the cinema and went on other very interesting day-trips. I enjoyed my holiday in Cardiff  because my host family was very interested in making my stay with them as comfortable as possible.

Now I have learned so much in English and my speaking has become much better. Also after two days I began to think in English!

Yours, Natalie

My holiday in Cardiff

Hello, my name is Anna, i’m from Russia, Saint-Petersburg. I’m 15 years old. I came to Cardiff for 4 weeks. This is my third visit to England. I was in London last summer, in Kent(Sandwich) last September and in Cardiff this summer. I really liked this family. Sophie – she was my teacher, is very friendly and good. I really enjoyed lessons with her. She lived with husband and 2 children. Gwenny is her daughter, she is 17 years old, and she is very friendly and good too. We have been in cinema twice and went to the shopping centre together. I really enjoyed spend time with her. Gathin is Sophie’s son. He is 15 years old and he is very funny and friendly too. On the  weekends we had a picnic in the park, we  took a boat and rowed for  1 hour. I really liked it. Also, we visited lots of excursions. Visited Millennium Stadium,  St. Fagans, Cardiff  Castle,  Dyffryn House and Roath Park. I had 4 hours English Lessons per day. Lessons were very good, I really enjoyed it, because time passed very quickly, it was very interesting. Every day we watched TV programs. I think, that my English is improving now. I feel that I speak English better.

I enjoyed my time in Cardiff with Sophie’s family.

Thank you. Dzhurko Anna.

Great time in Wales

My name is benedict, and I’m totally happy with living and Learning English.l came 2 weeks to the north of Wales.

We were taking a walk on the beach, and the weather was always lovely those 2 weeks.

We were on several trips  in those 2 weeks, 5 we made.

I am impressed how wonderfull some places are in Wales.
We,my hostparrents and I,went to several places for example Lake Vrynwy and to a waterfall.
Then we drove to Barmouth where we took a walk on the beach. The weather was good ;it was just fantastic.
I could play tennis, go fishing and we played Scrabble every night. The meals were just as good as they could be.We made several more trips, and at least I learned a lot of English and things that I wanted to learn. It was a helpful time living and learning English.

So I would use living and learning agin if there is a need for it.

Luis Fernandez in Wales

Hello, I am Luis Fernandez Concellon. I am nineteen years old and I am a student of mechanical engineering in the University of Zaragoza (Spain).

I am in Tan-y-Garreg in Llangadfan (Wales) where my English teacher lives. I am improving my English.

I go to the gym three times a week that is in a Leisure Centre in Llanfair Caerenion (Wales).

Llanfair Caerenion is 9 miles from Tan-y-Garreg. I pay £3.80 per session so that I can use the equipment of the gym.

I spend one hour. I run about 20 minutes and then I work out the rest of the time. I usually work on back, shoulders, chest, biceps, triceps and upper body.

It is very good that I am able to keep to my exercise programme in Wales.

Unforgettable time in Wales

Thank you very much – Marco, Vicky and John! It was a great great time full of different activities, communication and etc. I fell in love with Wales and its beautiful sights. I’m looking forward to being back to you guys. Thank you again.

See you soon.

2 weeks in Wales

I came to Wales to improve my English and to visit this part of Great Britain  at the same time. I have spent 2 weeks in the welsh countryside , dividing my stay between lessons on a 1 X 1 basis and the discovery of  the countryside with a lovelyTibetan Terrier dog named Monty.

I also had the opportunity to visit the famous Powis gardens, to participate in a typical English event, The Shrewsbury Flower Show,  which reminded me of the atmosphere of “Midsommer Murders’ crimes and last but not least, to share the daily life of my teacher. I would like to mention that I have also discovered a magnificent “cordon bleu ” (my teacher`s wife) and I’ll never let anybody say that English cooking is a catastrophe!

Far from the Olympics hysteria, it was a quiet and fruitful two weeks.

Carlos and Theo in Wales

My name is Carlos, i’m 14 years old, and i’m from Spain. I was n Wales with Theo for 3 weeks living with Kath, Gareth and Tux (the cat) and having English lessons in the morning.

Hey, my name is Theodore Le Goff, I’m 14 years old too, I’m from in France the best country of the world. I was in Wales ( Efail-isaf ) for 3 weeks  living in a family and having very good moments.

We had very good laughs together, and we met new friends. We visited lots of beautiful places, like Castell Coch, Caerphilly Castle, Cardiff Bay, an old coal mine (Big Pit) and we did some activities like bowling, go to the cinema or to the swimming pool.

English in Wales

Hi, my name is Yvonne and I spent 3 lovely weeks in the home of my hosts, David and Diane. Their cottage is in the countryside and around 20km away from the next big town. They have been very friendly and integrated me in their daily life. I also joined their friends and family. Diane is an excellent cook and so I was indulged with delicious vegetarian meals. Every day I went for a walk with the family’s very friendly dog; therefore, we got very close. We visited many very interesting places: Powis Castle, an estuary, a tourist attraction called King Arthur’s Labyrinth, the seaside, Shrewsbury, Chester and a lot more.

My teacher didn’t only teach me English, I also received an impression of Welsh culture. I learnt a lot about Wales and could improve my English. Apart from the very rainy weather, it was a wonderful time and I will miss the green of Wales, the sheep and the friendly people.

Luise in Cardiff

I felt very welcome, the lessons are efficient (I reached my goals), the food is home made, tasty and good for health, we went to castles, museums and also to the gym.Kathryn pays attention to your needs and wills both during the lessons and for your free time. Huw, her husband is very nice and enjoys joking. A great and lively atmosphere in few words.I really enjoyed my stay with Kathryn and Huw and I think you will too.

MY STAY IN WALES

I spent 2 weeks in Bangor on Dee with Lynne and Stan. It was an enjoyable experience in a lovely village. I visited Chester, the North Wales coast, the World Heritage Site (Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal), and, of course, I have learned a lot of English! In the area there are a lot of lovely walks and plenty to see and do. The Tedfords are very kind and welcoming, Lynne is a very good cook and our lessons have been varied, very enjoyable and a lot of fun.
