My name is Hortense. I am 14-years-old and I come from France. I have spent two weeks with Shan and Andrew in Wallingford. In the morning, I had lessons and in the afternoon I had excursions with Shan. During the lessons, we used a course book, we also studied a book called Holes, we read newspaper articles about the gymnastics in the Olympics and discussed films we watched in the evening. I found the pronunciation course very useful. In the afternoon, we went for walks in Wallingford and Henley. My favourite walk was to Wittenham Clumps to watch the sunset.
We also visited Windsor Castle and the Oxford colleges. I like Christ Church because of the history and the stories about the real Alice. At Wallingford Museum, there was an exhibition about William the Conqueror who built a castle in Wallingford.
I enjoyed the experience and I have a lovely journal full of photographes to take home.
