• livia bargoni | 11 Feb 2012, 12:58 My days in London
My name is Livia and I'm 24 years old. I come from Livorno, in Italy. I had to improve my English language for future work. This course is a really full immersion in English language. I stayed in London for a month, so I had an intensive experience. For the first two weeks I stayed at Roger's home and then other two weeks at Sharon's home. Both of the families are very nice. I had the possibility to visit many beautiful places in London: I think that I've seen all the city! But I also studied a lot!! I hope to go back to London! Thanks!! Best wishes!!

  • Vincent Privat | 25 Oct 2011, 13:36 Fantastic time in England! My name is Vincent and with leaving learning English I have been in England for become well in English. For this experience I had gone for three weeks in Sandwich in England. When I arrived ,I met my English Family with my teacher and my friend Abel Otero and they were very nice with me I was very surprise. It was the start of my English. With my teacher ,Cathy I learned lots of new vocabulary and English Expressions and Phrasal Verbs at the start it was very complicate to understand these and to understand when Cathy talk to me but after three or four day it was easier and now I am better than before it is just amazing !!! Cathy was a very good teacher and she helped and explained to me when I don´t understood and she was very nice with me. She was an excellent teacher But after or before the lesson we visited lots of beautiful places and  it was very interesting because so much were cultural place (Dover Castel, Canterbury  Church, Walmen castle) and funny place ( lots of beaches , The Royal St.George’s Golf Club). For the activities we went to the swimming pool, Cinema, Horse riding and walked) it was very good and Sandwich it is a beautiful town but with a weather very strange, it is England. Now the family one word PERFECT with Abel  it was excellent everybody are nice and comprehensive and very funny we talked about all subjects and there were lots of joke I laughed  lots of time it is q very good family I met a incredible people and a dog. For finish I say it was a very good travel I am better in English and I met a fantastic people I will never forget. Thank you for every things.

  • Abel Otero Ramirez | 25 Oct 2011, 13:26 Fun trip in Sandwich, Kent My name is Abel Otero Ramírez and I have been in England for three weeks. I was with Cathie Woolsgrove as teacher in Sandwich, a village in Kent near the sea. This trip was my first out of my country without family but it wasn’t a problem because Cathie’s family tried to help me in every things. I had a very good friend doing the same course that me. He is calling Vincent Privat, and when we had free time, we talked about planes, because we love it. The visits we did I enjoyed very much when we were in Canterbury, visiting its Cathedral or when we visited the Dover Castle. After, two days we went to the beach, one day in Ramsgate and other in Folkestone (the water was a quite cold for me) but twice we went to a very nice swimming pool. For me, this course it was fantastic because I could learn things I don’t study in Spain and Cathie (the teacher) helped me with the writings, the thing I couldn’t do well in my school or learning some “phrasal verbs” that for us it was very difficult.

  • Amaia Sotil | 20 Oct 2011, 12:17 Amaia in St Albans I spent two weeks in Kate Irving's home. She lives with her husband, Peter, who is a very lovely person. The house is in St. Albans which is a very interesting town very near London ( you can get to London in 20 minutes by train ).Kate is a very good teacher and she is very flexible in how you like doing the classes.I was very amused in my staying because they ( Kate and Peter ) have a very friendly life.During my two weeks with them we visited Cambridge; we went to two concerts in a church in St. Albans and, after that, we went to a pub with their friends. One evening they invited some friends to have dinner at home and the friends' Spanish student came as well. Another evening we went to their childrens' home to have dinner and another day we were in a neighbour's house to have dinner too. We spent one evening watching and playing darts.I had the possibility to meet many different people and in my opinion this is very important to improve your English.

  • Shino T | 1 Feb 2011, 12:49 My stay in St Albans Hi, I’m Shino from Japan.  I’ve learned English for two weeks in St Albans!  Before I came to St Albans, I thought that staying in my teacher’s home and learning English for two weeks would be much longer and harder….so part of me was worried.   But now, I can’t believe that I’ve stayed just two weeks!   I mean, thanks to my teacher, Jeannette, I experienced many kinds of things and spent a great time with a lot of people.  London is very close by and I visited Cambridge with another teacher and her student there were four of us. So I chatted a lot.   Of course, I improved my English skills.  These two weeks were more wonderful and enjoyable than I’ve ever had!!   I wished I could have stayed longer…  I’ll be back anyway!!!

I chose 25 hours a week and this course was very usefull for improving my English. Staying in teacher's house was helpfull to know better each other and to model lessons on my needs. People in the North of England are very kind, friendly and disponsable to help you. I enjoyed this experience very much and I hope to do it again!

I spoke a lot with John (my English teacher) on many different topics, and it was very interesting. He and his wife Ann showed me a lot fine places. I saw the Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral. We were in the New Forest where there were a lot of wild ponies. I feel my English speaking improved and now it is easier for me to understand  what other people say to me. I joined them at a very enjoyable picnic and concert  at Wilton House.

  • Olga Svyryda | 25 Jun 2010, 11:51 My first staying in the UK My name is Olga and I'm from Ukraine. I really enjoyed my five weeks' course with Kate. Staying with her family was excellent. Kate's husband Peter and their children Jonathan, Lucy and Hannah are very friendly and cheerful. I like the methods of teaching, it's never boring during the lessons and every day I could find out something new about the life in the UK. Also I enjoyed excursions to London and Cambridge. These cities are very beautiful and their history is very interesting.   So I think this course was very useful for me English, I improved it and now can feel myself a bit more confident.

  • Tania Poncato | 6 Jun 2010, 21:31 A great experience MY LESSONS My lessons were fine because we covered topics which I was interested in so the lessons were interesting and absolutely not boring. The 3 hours flew past. I could cover and review all the things I wanted to do because we discussed everything. THE SOCIAL PROGRAMME The first day, the family asked me what I would like to visit. I said London and they organized our trip. I’m so happy about this journey to London! We visited everything so the day after I could go back to London alone without having problems. They explained to me how to use the tube. MY FAMILY They made me feel at home, from my arrival to my departure. They are nice, generous, hospitable, great people. My room was comfortable and really light and I like light. This was my first experience alone in a place that I didn’t know and especially with people that I didn’t know and I have to tell the truth: It was a brilliant vacation, a fantastic experience, a great way for fun, to learn English and improve my English. Today I have to go back home and I’m so sad and moody. I would like to stay here in London and with this family and learn more and more other things about the language.
